If your institution appears in the list of CIAO subscribers and you are connecting via a campus internet connection, you can expect to gain access to CIAO. If your institution does not appear in the list, contact your institution's library about subscribing to CIAO.

Pricing
The cost of a subscription is determined by two factors: type of institution and size of institution. We accept individual subscriptions as well.

Colleges & Universities
Colleges and universities will be billed on the basis of the full-time enrollment number (FTE). For single campus subscriptions, the following rates apply:

Consortial pricing is also available. We currently have relationships with several consortia, including Lyrasis, Waldo, SCELC, NERL, and others.
High Schools
High schools receive a special flat rate of $400.
Public Libraries

Non-Profit Institutes and Government Departments
Non-Profits will be billed on the basis of the full-time employed number (FTE). For single site subscriptions, the following rates apply:

Individuals
Individuals wishing to subscribe to CIAO may do so provided they complete a License Agreement. The current rates for an individual subscription are USD $300. To obtain an Individual License, please write to hp2356@columbia.edu.
Subscription Renewals
All subscriptions begin on July 1st of the calendar year; if an institution wishes to begin its subscription mid-year, the subscription will be pro-rated accordingly. Annual subscription fees are due on July 1st. Columbia University Press shall notify Licensee of the applicable subscription fee for each year in writing at least sixty (60) days prior to the commencement date.
