Gateway House: Indian Council on Global Relations

Gateway House: Indian Council on Global Relations is a foreign policy think tank based in Mumbai. We are membership-based, non-partisan and not-for-profit. Our mission is to act as the bridge between business and foreign policy, to debate India’s role in global affairs, and to give the country a global voice. Established in 2009, we are one of the few domestic and international specialists in India’s foreign policy. We publish research in a niche but critical area of scholarship: the intersection between geo-economics and geopolitics. Our experts cover a range of new subjects, from cyber-security to space technology, which are cutting edge not just in India but globally. Gateway House also provides a platform for advanced dialogue with decision-makers in closed-door, off-the-record meetings. We are now on the University of Pennsylvania’s annual Best Global Think Tanks ranking for the second year in a row, with an improved position. We have featured in the list of Best Independent Think Tanks and have ranked in eight other categories including ‘Top Think Tanks in China, India, Japan and the Republic of Korea’ (#28 out of 65) and ‘Think Tank to Watch’ (#38 out of 100).
